How often do you, as a business owner, get overwhelmed in your business? Daily? Hourly? Pretty much feel overwhelmed all the time? If this is you, you are not alone. Often so much comes up at once that it’s hard to keep focus and know what priorities are. That can lead to doing what is easiest first because it feels like you are doing something, but that may not be what is most needed.
It doesn’t need to be that way. Setting priorities and getting started on them helps – but how do you know what is most needed? It may not be what is obvious – there may be harder to see root causes. Do your people always do what you ask them to do? Do they know exactly what you want them to do? Are things falling through the cracks in your delivery system creating daily or almost daily fires? These are just a few unnecessary possibilities that can contribute to overwhelm – either yours or your employees.
